Dental Partners and Working Feedback celebrate record-breaking 100,000 reviews

Dental Partners, an exciting and fast-growing network of dental practices, are in high spirits, celebrating a whopping 100,000 reviews – the first ever group to do so.

In 2017, Dental Partners had signed up 11 locations and, just five years later, they are proud to have all their practices using the review platform.

This breakthrough has been achieved in association with Working Feedback, a top tier partner with a system that integrates directly with Software of Excellence and Dentally. The system collects, moderates and shares feedback through easy-to-use software and is an approved review partner for the CQC and NHS digital, which means the system also takes care of the Friends and Family Test (FFT) requirements.

Commenting on reaching this milestone, Dental Partners’ Chief Operating Officer, Caron Best , stated, ‘When we decided there was a need for us to monitor patient satisfaction and learn from it, reaching 100,000 reviews was a distant but exciting prospect.

‘Our belief in the importance of feedback has now been proven right, not only by the numbers but also what the reviews themselves say, demonstrating their worth via increased patient enquiries and our ability to react to what our patients say about us.

‘By using Working Feedback, an independent third-party service that works through our chosen software, the solution is reliable, simple and easy to use, and it works! What more could we ask for?’

Adding her voice to the celebrations, Tina Sleigh, Marketing Communications Manager, said: ‘We are patient-focused and dedicated to delivering excellent patient care. That means service is incredibly important to us and so see our patients’ feedback is key to this. That’s a significant part of why we are able, today, to celebrate our 100,000th review.’

She continued: ‘As chosen feedback system effortlessly integrates with the NHS Digital website, Google My Business and social media, we are able not only to build our online presence in a positive way and act on constructive feedback, but it also offers us the opportunity to cross-sell additional services.’

Key Feedback Statistics for Dental Partners (achieved through Working Feedback):

  • 100,000+ Patient reviews
  • 6,824 Google reviews
  • 11,821 Friends & Family Test responses
  • 1 in 4 patients response rate
  • 98% Group Patient satisfaction score

Team members praise Dentistry Show London

Dentistry Show London offers learning and networking opportunities for all members of the dental team to enjoy.

Commenting on Cat Edney’s session about digital scanning for DCPs, Head Nurse Ewa Fares from Elgin Dental Care said:

“I want to encourage team members to use the scanner that is sitting in our hallway collecting dust! I thought the speaker was very good and very clear in her session.”

Dental therapists, Rosie Anderson and Poppy Grout, were also impressed by Lauren Long’s lecture about fully utilising the skills of the dental therapist:

“Lauren was very clear in comparing the working models for dental therapists – it is difficult to find that information. We attended because we wanted to know more about how to implement a dental therapist’s skills and we will take a lot back to help sell ourselves a little more.”

Reflecting on the show in general, practice manager Vanessa, said:

“This was my first time attending the show and I was looking to see what’s new in the market. Sessions have also been very interesting – I will be coming back next year!”

Dentistry Show London 2023 will be held on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th October. Visit london.dentistryshow.co.uk for the latest details

“You couldn’t ask for better support”

Vicky Jefferies, Area Manager for Rodericks Dental, shares her career journey so far and offers some advice for others considering a similar professional pathway:

“I started my working life washing up in a pub, where I worked up to bar supervisor when I was 18 years old. I then worked in a health spa for 5 years, becoming a specialist therapist, before moving into the retail side of the beauty business. Next up was the car industry, where I became an IT system trainer, before I took time out to have a baby. I joined dentistry when I came back to work as a part-time receptionist. I later qualified as a dental nurse and then became a practice support manager and lead dental nurse, following my interests in management. I joined Rodericks Dental in 2016 as a single site practice manager, upskilling to dual-site management coaching new practices managers in their roles as well. By 2018, I was an area support manager and in 2019 I took on the area manager role.

“I have always had great support from everyone in Rodericks Dental, including a huge amount of support from my own manager, Verity Hills. I spoke to Dawn Farrell (COO) about my career ambitions when I joined and have put forward whenever a relevant opportunity came up. You can ask the leadership team for so much help. There is a clear focus on career progression and building skills. Rodericks understands that everyone has different skillset and they prioritise those. You have to put the work in, but if you have the passion and motivation, they will take you wherever you want to.

”My advice for others looking to develop their own careers would be to figure out what areas you enjoy and where you want to go – there are many options for dental nurses! Then make sure you share your interests with your manager(s) so they can help you advance, offer advice and put you forward for opportunities. It’s just about being proactive in your self-development and knowing where you want to go. Rodericks provides a great support network. I’ve worked with many companies to compare and I don’t think you could ask for better support for your career development than here. Want a great career? Come to Rodericks!”

Planning for a secure financial future

Without a clear understanding of your personal and business finances, it’s unlikely that you will have the information you need to plan effectively for the coming years, especially as so many things are still in a state of flux. So what can you do to safeguard your finances and keep working towards your future goals?

A difficult to navigate financial landscape

The cost-of-living crisis is the term on everyone’s lips at the moment, and for good reason. In a relatively short time, we’ve seen prices skyrocket and leave many people struggling. Fuel prices continue to climb, inflation has reached the highest rate for 40 years (currently 9.1%)[i] and energy prices show no sign of settling.

These price hikes are impacting everyone, which means that it can be difficult to know how to proceed with any financial plans you have in the pipeline. The best way to ensure that you are well informed about your finances and can reach your financial goals is to seek assistance from experts.

Finding advice that suits you

When seeking financial advice, there are two options available to you: Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) and Restricted Advisers. Both of these options have advantages, so it’s necessary to know how these individuals can help you and what options are on the table.

Restricted Advisers: as the name suggests, Restricted Advisers can only give advice on a limited selection of products on the market and are usually tied in with certain companies. This means that if you are shopping for insurance policies, for example, they will only be able to offer you a certain selection that fall under their remit.

They may also only be able to offer you products in one area. For instance, they may specialise in providing pension products and not be able to offer you any advice on other areas. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage, as it guarantees that they are very knowledgeable in their specific field, but it also means that they can only take a limited approach to your unique financial situation.

Independent Financial Advisers: one huge benefit of choosing the services of an IFA is that they have the freedom to offer you the whole spectrum of products available on the market. This means that they can take a deeper dive into your finances and see how you can save in multiple areas, whether that’s by finding insurance policies that will better align with your needs or by guiding you through pension policies to help set you up better for the future. They can also look at different opportunities for you, such as giving tailored advice on entering the stock market or making other investments.

As their help isn’t tied to a particular company or set of products, you can also guarantee that an IFA will always offer you advice that is in your best interests. As such, in the vast majority of cases advice from IFAs is likely to be more beneficial.

Find a firm that understands you and your industry

There are hundreds of firms with IFAs out there, but how can you find the right firm for you?

Dentistry is a unique industry in that dentists are considered self employed. Plus, with rules and regulations guiding the industry constantly changing, it really pays to choose a firm who has a deep understanding of the profession. This way, you can guarantee that the advisers can apply their knowledge to your financial situation and have a better grasp on how your work life will be impacting your funds.

The award-winning team at money4dentists are the perfect choice for dentists. Not only have they got decades of experience in the industry, but they also only work with dentists, guiding them to achieve their financial goals time and time again. No matter whether you are looking towards retirement, want to invest in stocks or have a vision to expand your business, the experts at money4dentists are here to help every step of the way.

Secure your future

While the economy is unpredictable, it makes sense to ensure that your finances are in the best shape possible. By seeking advice from IFAs who truly understand your situation, you can guarantee that you receive the best guidance possible, giving you the tools you need to keep your finances secure and continue to work towards any future financial goals.

A&U Dental braces for growth with acquisition of new surgery following funding from Santander UK

A&U Dental has acquired Citident Dental Practice in Milton Keynes, marking its expansion into Buckinghamshire and taking its portfolio of surgeries to seven. Santander UK has provided A&U Dental with a £2.5m funding package to support the acquisition.

A&U Dental was first established by siblings Ambareen Tejani-Sharif and Aly S. Tejani in 2016, and Santander UK has provided funding support for six of the family-run group’s seven dental surgeries as well as its day-to-day banking.

Santander UK has been the business’ banking partner since its inception, providing funding support in 2016 for the acquisition of its first practice, The Avenue Dental Surgery in Leigh, Greater Manchester, and additional funding later that year which enabled it to acquire its second practice, Bredbury Dental Centre in Stockport. In 2020, Santander UK provided it with another funding package to support its acquisition of its third practice, Lovely Lane Dental Centre in Warrington, Cheshire, followed last year by funding for its acquisitions of Beach Road Dental Practice in Northwich, Cheshire and Merseyside Dental Centre in Liverpool. A&U Dental self-funded the acquisition of its sixth practice, Prestbury Road Dental Practice in Macclesfield, Cheshire in November last year.

As part of its acquisition strategy, A&U Dental aspires to build a portfolio of 20 dental practices in the next five years, and in doing so to expand into new locations throughout England. It is currently looking to make acquisitions in London and the South of England. It also intends growing organically through the addition of new services, such as facial aesthetics, oral surgery, orthodontics and premium-time dentistry at its existing practices. Its surgeries offer both NHS and private dental services.

The group’s current annual turnover is £7.1m and it is targeting turnover of £11.5m in a year’s time and £30m by March 2028. In line with anticipated growth, it plans to increase its staff from 114 currently to 500 in the next five years.

Aly S. Tejani, Acquisitions and Operations Director, A&U Dental said: “Our family has been working with Santander UK since 2016 with the purchase of our first practice, Avenue Dental Centre. Over the past year, with Santander UK’s funding and support, we’ve more than doubled the size of our group to seven dental practices. During this growth phase, we look forward to working with Santander UK as our banking partner to build our business into a truly nationwide group.”

Ambareen Tejani-Sharif, Dental Director, A&U Dental said: “It has been a pleasure to work with the team at Santander UK over the past seven years. I am proud with what it has helped us achieve in the North West, allowing us to provide a high level of service to all our patients. I look forward to our growth in this new region.”

Jill Yates, Relationship Director at Santander UK, said: “We are pleased to provide funding for A&U Dental’s latest acquisition, which expands its portfolio of dental surgeries to seven. Having been A&U Dental’s banking partner since it was first established in 2016, we are delighted to have supported its growth at every step of the way and look forward to providing it with tailored, dedicated sector-specialist support in the years to come, helping it attain its aspiration of operating a nationwide portfolio of dental practices.”
