‘One of the most important dates in the postgraduate calendar’

Phil Ower will be presenting “Perio classifications and diagnosis” at the Oral Health Conference and Exhibition (OHC) 2018, on Saturday 24 November 9.15am.

He says:

“I will be discussing all aspects of periodontal diagnosis, from the need to do a full and detailed assessment of the patient to the use of the new classification system for periodontal and peri-implant diseases that was released during Europerio 9 in Amsterdam, June 2018.

“Right now the biggest challenge is getting used to the new periodontal classification system, which is radically different from what we have been used to for the last 20 years. I want to try and make the new system workable for those in general practice.”

Having been a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy (BSDHT) since the early 1990s, Phil is a keen advocate of the OHC:

“The OHC is one of the most important dates in the postgraduate calendar, concentrating as it does on high quality science and state-of-the-art thinking in oral health. It is always a great way to network and catch up with old friends so I’m looking forward to it, especially as retirement looms!”
