BACD: Find your second family at BDCDS 2023

The British Dentistry Conference & Dentistry Show (BDCDS) 2023 – 12-13 May at the NEC Birmingham – will offer a wealth of information and advice for dental professionals looking to advance their knowledge and skills. Delivering the exceptional programme that the event is known for is a team effort, with valuable input provided from leading professional organisations such as the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD).

The BACD is an engaging and progressive organisation dedicated to the advancement of cosmetic and functional dentistry. It advocates for high-quality professional education that enables clinicians to elevate their skills and enjoy a fruitful career while delivering exceptional patient treatment. There are various well-attended BACD events held throughout the year, presented by some of the leading cosmetic and restorative dentists from around the world. The Academy is also known for its sense of community – everyone is welcome.

The BACD will be supporting the Aesthetic & Digital Dentist Theatre at BDCSD once again, with inspiring speakers taking to the podium for delegates to hear from. Simon Chard, BACD President, says: “We are looking forward to BDCDS as it’s always a great opportunity to catch up with friends, connect with members and meet new people. Delegates can find us in the BACD Lounge, by the BACD Aesthetic & Digital Dentist Theatre, where we’d be delighted to discuss all of the brilliant membership benefits available. These include the esteemed BACD Accreditation Scheme, which has recently been updated to make it even more accessible to more clinicians. For me, the greatest benefit of the BACD is the community – we’re a family that looks out for each other and we want to help every individual reach the very top of their game.”

The British Dental Conference & Dentistry Show 2023 will be held on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 May, NEC Birmingham, co-located with DTS.

The British Dental Conference & Dentistry Show: “always an occasion!” says the BDSHT

The British Dental Conference & Dentistry Show (BDCDS) is the UK’s largest dental event. With a programme that is relevant and focused, thought-provoking and progressive, 10,000 professionals from all over the country visit to enjoy education and networking opportunities, and source products and services from more than 400 exhibitors.

Partnering with the show is the British Society of Dental Hygiene & Therapy (BSDHT). Established since 1949, the BSDHT has a mission to represent the interests of practising dental hygienists, dental therapists and students. It also seeks to provide members and the general public with quality information, to improve standards of oral health.

As an event partner, the BSDHT will be a key contributor to the lectures and learning content in the Hygienist & Therapist Symposium. Also, anyone who wants to know more about the benefits of joining can get their questions answered.

Sharon Broom, the BSDHT’s Director of Operations, says:

“It’s always an occasion at BDCDS! The organisation is second-to-none and we know it’s going to be well-attended.

“As well as introducing our new team, the BSDHT will be talking about our coaching and mentoring programme, and the hands-on event we’re running later this year. We’ll be speaking at the Hygienist & Therapist Symposium, too.

“What’s great for us is that everything is under one roof – delegates, trade, students. We’re really looking forward to seeing everyone there.”

Visit BDCDS to get insight and inspiration from professionals facing the same challenges as you and sharing their solutions. This is what makes this event unmissable, every year – it’s about the whole dental team coming together, to build a better future.

Hear from Warren Tolly, Deputy Chief Dental Officer Wales, at BDCDS 2023

If you haven’t already, register today for the British Dental Conference & Dentistry Show (BDCDS) 2023, being held on 12-13 May at the NEC Birmingham.

Among the highly esteemed speakers in the Dental Nurses’ Forum, supported by the BADN, will be Warren Tolley – Deputy Chief Dental Officer Wales. About his session, Warren comments:

“I will cover three main topics: ACORN/Contract Reform and the dental nurse’s role; National oral health improvement programmes, Designed to Smile and Gwên am Byth’; and the Wales Community Dental Service.

“The reform of primary care dentistry and the development of skill mixing is highly relevant to the modern dental nurse right now and the delivery of NHS dental care in the future. I hope to highlight the career opportunities that are available to dental nurses, including developing additional skills. The pandemic demonstrated the many transferable skills that a dental nurse has and individuals can make the most of these to drive their career.

“Ultimately, I hope delegates will see the exciting opportunities that are available to them and how dental nurses can lead on specific areas within dentistry.”
