Professor Chapple speaking to hygienists and therapists At the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show 2018

Among the highly anticipated speakers presenting in the Hygienist & Therapist Symposium at the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show 2018, will be Professor Iain Chapple.

About his lecture, entitled “Can new risk assessment technologies make a difference to our patients and our practice?” he comments:

“There has been a huge shift in our understanding of why some people develop periodontitis and others appear resistant. During my session, I shall provide an update on the reasons for this and their impact on future management. I hope to get a clear message across that 21st century health care is about precision medicine or, in our case, precision dental medicine. The patient needs to be analysed as an individual by assessing their risk of oral disease and implementing personalised strategies to reduce that risk.

“I believe we are and will continue going through the most radical changes that we have seen in dentistry for more than 50 years. We must take the opportunities to influence the direction of change. I believe these are very exciting times, but we have to engage.”

Dr Federico Sancho Coming to Birmingham

The British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show 2018 will provide copious learning opportunities for all members of the dental team.

Among the world-class speakers presenting on an array of topics will be Dr Federico Moreno Sancho, who will discuss the treatment of teeth that have vertical bone defects through using regenerative surgery. He comments:

“In my presentation, I will describe the biological principles of periodontal regeneration, as well as the rationale, indications and contraindications. I will also explore the techniques that are available and the patient-, tooth- and defect-related factors that can affect patient outcomes for periodontal treatment.

“The management of teeth with vertical bone defects often represents a challenge. However, these teeth may be successfully treated through sensibly planned regenerative surgery. I will illustrate, through clinical examples, the factors that most require careful assessment so that suitable cases can be identified for successful periodontal regeneration. In addition, I will consider the limits of what can be achieved with this type of therapy.”

Don’t miss Dr Moreno and many other engaging speakers at the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show 2018 – save the dates!

David Bloom at the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show 2018

David Bloom will be at the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show 2018 to present “Additive wax-up and techniques to ensure minimum intervention but maximum aesthetics”.

He says:

“I believe that exceptional aesthetics are possible with minimal or no tooth preparation. My presentation will explore ways that this can be achieved. I want attendees to come away with an understanding of additive wax-up versus subtractive and of a visual try-in. I also want delegates to see how using a visual try-in allows for minimal tooth preparation. We are going to look at other techniques that offer minimal intervention alongside maximum aesthetics as well.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, network and have fun with colleagues – don’t miss the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show 2018.

The British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show 2018 will be held on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th May at the NEC in Birmingham, co-located with DTS.

A passion for teaching

“I chose Ten Dental’s mentoring because both Martin and Nik are incredibly talented clinicians who have a big heart, welcoming nature and love to share their knowledge with their fellow colleagues with no strings attached” says Dr. Mohamed Kassam. “The sheer wealth of experience and knowledge in Implant Dentistry that both of them possess coupled with their passion for teaching and support for their colleagues holds no bounds and clearly shines through.

“Throughout the mentoring process I wanted to enhance my knowledge and experience in the art of placing and restoring Dental Implants and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Both Martin and Nik had an open door policy allowing me to observe as well as treat patients under their direct and indirect supervision. Their support, patience and manner were excellent throughout, and enabled me to enhance my knowledge, skills, ability and confidence in this area immensely.

“I would 100% recommend this mentoring scheme to others – Martin and Nik are phenomenal tutors and individuals, and you’d be hard pressed to find better people to learn from.”

A unique implant system for unrivalled healing

TBR is leading the way in implant design. Its range of implant solutions is spearheaded by the Z1, a tissue-level implant with a unique zirconia collar, which improves healing due to its biocompatibility.

Unlike traditional tissue-level implants, the Z1 has been shown to reduce bone loss, as well as providing improved soft-tissue healing. The histology of the epithelial fibres that form around zirconia is similar to that of fibres formed around a natural tooth, therefore a stronger bond is created.

Furthermore, the risk of peri-implantitis developing is reduced, with lower levels of bacterial colonisation compared to titanium implants. With a 98.6% success rate, it’s no wonder more and more practitioners are choosing the Z1 for their implant patients.

The Z1 is only available in the UK through Dental Express (a trading division of Surgery Express LLP), so to find out more about TBR’s products, get in touch with the dedicated team.
