This session will look at the changing face of the UK population and the challenges we may face in maintaining a patient’s overall oral health as they age.
It will concentrate on treating periodontal disease in practice and how to gain the best from your treatment sessions, whilst encouraging patients to comply with your tailored oral hygiene advice, with particular reference to interdental cleaning.

DURING THIS SESSION ATTENDEES WILL LEARN:
1. To discuss the oral health of the UK population and how we should manage our patients in general practice, both now and in the future
2. To discuss the benefits of effective cleaning with emphasis on interdental cleaning, and how to get patients to WANT to brush and clean interdentally on a regular basis
3. To discuss what tools we already have – and how we may have to modify what we do to fit our patients.
