The ADI turns 40

Let the celebrations commence – the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI) is turning 40 in 2027. This epic milestone reflects the passion of the dental implant community and the tireless work of the Board that has led the ADI from strength to strength.

The forthcoming ADI Team Congress 2027, taking place on 15-17 April in Liverpool, will be particularly special in marking the big anniversary year. The theme, “The Future in Focus. Four Decades of Implant Excellence”, is both an appreciation of the journey the community has made and a look ahead at the emerging technologies, techniques and approaches shaping dental implant treatments.

Excellence in education

Attendees can immerse themselves in a comprehensive educational programme that provides useful insights, clinical education and experience sharing for all members of the dental implant team: dentists, dental hygienists and dental therapists, practice managers, dental nurses, treatment coordinators, product developers and technology suppliers. Successful dental implant cases rely on clear communication between all dental professionals, and the ADI recognises the importance of delivering invaluable learning opportunities for all.

Talented educators from across the globe will head to ADI Team Congress 2027 to deliver inspiring lectures or lead hands-on workshops. Bringing the community together

ADI Team Congress 2027 is for all dental professionals with an interest in implants, from students and postgraduates at the very start of their clinical journey to experienced clinicians. In a landscape as dynamic as dental implantology, there is always more to discover and learn and the ADI community remains the UK’s epicentre for dental implant-related knowledge and skills, and this year’s Team Congress promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

As part of the 40^th anniversary celebrations, four ADI members will embark on a fundraising charity bike ride – “200 Miles to Congress”. Beginning in Banbridge, Northern Ireland, Drs Adam Bzeu, Amit Mistry, Andrew Little, and Kasia Gurzawska-Comis will cycle 200 miles over two days. Heading south to Dublin, the team will ferry across to Wales and continue their journey to King’s Dock in Liverpool, where Team Congress 2027 will be held at the LEX. The route will bring the four dentists right to the front doors of the venue, where the celebrations will continue.

Every donation made to the bike ride will be split evenly between two wonderful charities: Dentists’ Health Support Trust, which helps with the mental health and wellbeing of dental professionals, and Young Lives vs Cancer, which provides essential support to children, young people and their families facing cancer. The choice of these charities was of utmost importance to the ADI, with their selection hoping to bridge health disparities and improve quality of life for at-risk people, dental professionals or otherwise.
