According to the latest estimates from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the cancer agency of the World Health Organisation, one in five people worldwide will develop cancer during their lifetime. An estimated 20.6 million people were diagnosed globally in 2024, underscoring the continued importance of cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and support.
Against this backdrop, Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC) is marking the 20th anniversary of Practice Pink®, its global initiative that brings together healthcare professionals, supplier partners, Team Schein Members, and nonprofit organisations in support of cancer research and prevention.
Since Practice Pink began 20 years ago, Henry Schein and its partners have contributed more than US $2.1 million to cancer-related causes, helping advance research, prevention, early detection, access to care, and programs supporting people affected by cancer. By offering its customers a variety of pink products, including healthcare consumables, practice supplies, and apparel, Practice Pink enables customers to join Henry Schein in supporting these efforts.
“For two decades, Practice Pink has shown what is possible when our global healthcare community comes together around a shared purpose,” said Jennifer Kim Field, Vice President, Chief Sustainability Officer, Henry Schein. “What began as an effort to raise awareness has grown into a meaningful tradition of collaboration among our customers, supplier partners, Team Schein Members, and nonprofit partners. We are proud of what we have accomplished together and remain committed to supporting organisations making a difference for people impacted by cancer.”
Participating countries support organisations and activities tailored to the needs of their local communities, all connected by a common goal: helping advance efforts to prevent, detect, and treat cancer. The Practice Pink program supports the Ronald McDonald House Charities in the U.S., as well as various organisations in Europe, including ALADINA (Spain), Cancer Research UK, KWF (The Netherlands), LILT (Italy), Odyssea (France), and others.
Practice Pink in the U.K.
According to 2026 data from Cancer Research UK, the number of cancer cases diagnosed in the UK has risen to more than 400,000 a year. But thanks to ground-breaking research from leading cancer charities, cancer survival rates have doubled in the last 50 years. As part of the Company’s participation in the Practice Pink® programme, Henry Schein Dental and Medical in the U.K. will donate 5% of sales of select pink products during October and November to Cancer Research UK, supporting the organisation’s work in research, prevention efforts, early detection of the disease, and improving access to care.
Practice Pink is part of Henry Schein Cares, the Company’s global corporate citizenship program, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Through this initiative, Henry Schein unites dental and medical healthcare professionals, supplier partners, and nonprofit organizations across North America, Europe, and beyond to help build healthier communities.
