Dental Directory’s most recent independent practice survey shows patients feeling the cost of dental care more sharply since last quarter. More than half of practices (58.8%) now see patients delaying treatment, up from 50.5%, and 44.1% report requests for lower-cost alternatives, up from 35.8%.
New-patient check-up cancellations rose from 21.0% to 33.3% of practices, and 34.2% have seen patients moving towards NHS treatment, up from 20.9%. Practices are also buying more carefully, with 44.4% now shopping around for the best price, although fewer are ordering less overall.
