This November, Dr José Nart will be delivering a talk at the ADI Masterclass, titled “Choice of Surgical Techniques for Soft Tissue Augmentation Around Implant”. He shares why it’s the place to be for those with a passion for dental implantology:
“The aesthetic zone is highly demanding, and small complications can have a major impact on the final result. A Masterclass like this is valuable because it combines evidence, clinical experience, and practical decision-making. My talk will focus on the diagnosis and management of peri-implant soft tissue deficiencies and I will discuss why these defects occur, how to assess their prognosis, and how to decide when surgical correction is predictable.
“The lecture will be very clinically oriented, covering case selection, tissue phenotype, implant position, prosthetic factors, flap design, and connective tissue grafting. The main takeaway is differentiating between a deficiency which is predictably treated, and on the contrary treating a soft tissue dehiscence is not simply about covering a recession defect. Predictability depends on understanding the biology, the prosthetic design, the implant position, and the patient’s expectations. In all cases, the best management starts with prevention what alternatives were considered, and how complications or limitations were managed – in a Masterclass, delegates can understand why a certain approach was chosen in greater detail compared to reading the literature.
“Implant dentistry is constantly evolving, and being part of a community like the ADI helps clinicians stay updated, connected, and supported. For those interested in implantology, the value goes beyond education. It is about learning from colleagues, discussing real clinical challenges, understanding new evidence, and developing a more critical and responsible approach to treatment. Professional communities are essential for growth, especially in complex areas such as the aesthetic zone. I look forward to seeing you there!”
