Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Chapeltown Dental Care in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Chapeltown Dental Care is a well-established five-surgery mixed-income practice with a strong local reputation, operating from a substantial converted property in the heart of the community. Under the ownership of Dr Elizabeth Hughes-Docherty, the practice has developed a stable and profitable income base, supported by a longstanding NHS contract, Dental Foundation Training grant, and opportunities for further private growth. The business has built a loyal patient base and strong clinical team, making it an attractive proposition in the market.

Since 2002, the business had been owned in partnership by Dr Elizabeth Hughes-Docherty, who became sole Principal in 2018. It was brought to market as part of Dr Hughes-Docherty’s retirement planning, although she will remain with the practice as an Associate for the time being.

Following a confidential sales process with Jonathan Watson and Jill Green at Christie & Co, the practice was purchased by Dr Fayaz Ladak.

Dr Elizabeth Hughes-Docherty, former owner of Chapeltown Dental Care, comments, “After many rewarding years at Chapeltown, I felt the time was right to look towards the next chapter and entrust the practice to new ownership. It has been incredibly fulfilling to see the practice grow and evolve, expanding both our patient base and the range of services we offer while maintaining a strong focus on quality patient care.

“My hope for the future is that the practice continues to thrive, building on its strong reputation within the local community and providing outstanding dental care for many years to come. I would like to thank our loyal patients and dedicated team for their support throughout my time at the practice.”

Dr Fayaz Ladak, new owner of Chapeltown Dental Care, comments, “The practice immediately felt like a home for the people of Chapeltown when I first visited, and that gave it an instant appeal. I could see the dedication and hard work Elizabeth had invested over the years, and her personality and values gave me confidence that this was the right practice for me to take forward.

“I’m delighted to have acquired the practice and look forward to developing the team, expanding the services we offer, and continuing to invest in the practice over the months and years ahead. I believe the practice has tremendous potential to introduce additional services and more advanced treatment options, while continuing to provide the personal, high-quality care that patients value. My aim is to build on Elizabeth’s excellent work and establish the practice as a leading dental practice for the Chapeltown community for many years to come.”

Jonathan Watson, Director – Investments at Christie & Co, comments, “Chapeltown generated significant interest from a wide range of purchasers, from first-time buyers through to established regional operators. This level of demand demonstrates the continued strength of the dental market and the appetite that exists for profitable, well-established mixed practices.

“The practice’s strong NHS income and profitability, combined with opportunities for further private growth, made it a particularly attractive acquisition opportunity. We are delighted to have helped Elizabeth achieve her goals, and we wish Fayaz every success as he takes ownership of the business. We look forward to seeing the practice continue to thrive”

Chapeltown Dental Care was sold for an undisclosed price.
