The impact poor sleep plays on oral health and overall health is often underestimated.

Dr Paul Reaney is internationally recognised for his award-winning pathway of patient care around dental sleep medicine, and will be sharing his knowledge and skills at the BACD 22nd Annual Conference. The lecture, titled “Wake Up to Dental Sleep Medicine… Changing Lives with Every Breath” explores a range of topics. Dr Reaney expands:

“Attendees will learn the importance of good sleep for our personal health, how sleep deprivation compromises the accuracy of our clinical workflows and our rapport with family, colleagues and patients. Poor sleep is associated with most dental conditions and should be incorporated as a foundation of the full patient assessment for total wellbeing.  By identifying at-risk patients and integrating dental sleep medicine in all patient care, we can prevent dental disease and improve treatment and health outcomes.

“There will also be a focus on the solutions that can help us manage patients, from smartphone apps and wearable sleep monitoring devices to the new generation of precision  mandibular advancement appliances that can restore a patient’s quality of life. I look forward to presenting and seeing you at the BACD 22nd Annual Conference!”
