
The winner of this year’s Schottlander Poster Prize was Emma Foster-Thomas from Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust for her poster, “A qualitative study of patient experiences of dentofacial adverse effects after proton therapy”.
The case report considers the perspectives from childhood head and neck cancer survivors and their parents in relation to dentofacial adverse effects caused by proton therapy. The paper also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the dental and oncology teams involved.
The Schottlander Poster Prize is an annual award presented by the British Society of Prosthodontics (BSSPD) in association with Schottlander. It recogniaes excellence in academic and clinical research related to prosthetic dentistry, typically awarding a cash prize of £400 to the winning poster presentation.
