Stefan White, founder of Tahir Oral Care, delivered a talk at the British Dental Conference & Dentistry Show 2026 in Birmingham, addressing the UK’s stubborn flossing compliance problem.

Speaking to an engaged audience of dental professionals, Stefan began with the fact that 71% of people in the UK do not floss, and set out his mission to reduce that figure. “I want to change this, to get this down to 50% in my lifetime,” he said.

The session also featured Dr Ali Golkari, researcher at Queen Mary University of London. He noted that electric flossers can perform strongly at both contact point and embrasure – areas where alternative methods typically favour one over the other.

Audience response was positive. One attendee stated they had been using the Tahir Electric Flosser for twelve weeks following a warning of advanced gum disease, and told Stefan: “My gums have stopped bleeding, they’ve gone back to pink, and they’re no longer spongy.” They added that the talk itself was “clinical and informative; really interesting.”

Stefan also presented a £1,000 cheque to Dentaid The Dental Charity during the session, reflecting his ongoing commitment to charitable giving through Tahir Oral Care.
