BDIA Dental Showcase 2026 never fails to encourage new insight and exploration into the profession of dentistry. This year the show offered a dynamic schedule, jam-packed with exclusive insight, innovation, and collaboration – a place to expand knowledge and connect with likeminded individuals across the industry.
Alongside the informative lectures and extensive exhibition floor, the exclusive Clinical Excellence Workshops offered another depth of learning entirely. Attendees were able to participate directly with new techniques, technologies, and materials, augmenting confidence. The combination between expert-led instruction, hands-on participation, and industry-leading products offers a unique environment for professionals to excel, particularly as active learning far supersedes that of passive lectures.[i]
Try before you buy
The first-hand experience with equipment and materials available at BDIA Dental Showcase offered attendees the invaluable opportunity of trialling products without extensive expense or commitment. Prominent dental professional, Dr Munther Sulieman, who presented two highly attended workshops – From Dull to Dazzling: Whitening & Restoration made easy with Luna 2 – Easy Solutions, Exceptional Results and STELA: Not Just an Amalgam Alternative But Truly The New All Rounder in Modern Dentistry – supports this sponsored by SDI. He explained that “one of the best things about attending these sessions is that you don’t need to buy the product to use it”.
Taking attendees through a composite journey, Dr Sulieman began with an overview of the materials and how the composition of his preferred material is ideal, including that the higher filler in the composite means that there is less polymerisation shrinkage. He explored where STELA fits into Modern Restorative Workflows both in Private and NHS dentistry by explaining and demonstrating where and how to use it.
Dr Munther also opened the workshop to questions, which was received well by excitable delegates keen to learn more from the expert with one attendee describing him as a “great speaker and teacher” thanking him for an “enjoyable practical [that was] very informative learning all the steps”. Another felt as though he was a “clear, useful, professional, and knew what he was talking about”.
Dynamic duos
Other highly commended Clinical Excellence Workshops were Precision in Posterior Onlay Preparation and Anterior Veneer Preparation, both led by Raheel Malik and Richard Porter of Aspire Dental Academy and sponsored by NSK.
Eyes remained glued to the energetic speakers, who had lots of knowledge to share. Dr Meera Bowry describes her experience of the workshop, praising the “excellent speakers and a clinically relevant topic. A good practical session with great advice regarding burs and handpieces.” Hands-on practice also allows clinicians to take their newfound skills back to practice and assuredly continue developing and sharing the proficiencies with other colleagues. Dr Bowry continues, “the session will definitely help my confidence with onlay preps”.
From one dream team to another, Kat and Chris Martin described the formidable pair as “very informative, encouraging, supportive, and friendly with great practical skills”. The atmosphere in the workshop was bubbling with excitement as delegates felt genuinely nurtured throughout the process, with plenty of opportunity for questions and support.
Ali Chohan and Fahad Sheikh presented a busy Composite Bonding Masterclass on behalf of Smile Dental Academy. Together, they described the importance of isolation and order protocol throughout the process of composite bonding.
In attendance was Daniel Peterson, who explained he “really enjoyed the session. Ali and Fayed were amazing sharing their knowledge. The hands-on was clear and informative with all the top-quality equipment.”
Technological excellence
BDIA Dental Showcase is a hotspot for discovering the latest dental innovations – particularly technological advancements. The workshops offer exciting access to these, including one sponsored by the event’s exclusive 3D Printing Partner, SprintRay. The Midas Revolution: Restorations in under 10 minutes was presented by Dr Neil Harris. Attendees had the unique opportunity to work with the revolutionary Midas, under the guidance of Dr Harris taking them from scan to post-process.
Roger Scholls attended the workshop, describing it as “excellent… Neil Harris is a brilliant educator and is very enthusiastic. He has a deep naturally interested background knowledge in the subject.” Roger continues to describe BDIA Dental Showcase as an event that is “always excellent! Always love the BDIA [Dental Showcase] and it is a very important event for the industry.”
Another acclaimed workshop that offered exclusive access to technological advancements was Supercharged Patient Communication, led by Cat Edney and Jaz Gulati. Paving the future for patient communication, Admetec sponsored the workshop, as Jaz demonstrated an entire clinical appointment using the Flamingo camera to project exactly what he was seeing and doing to the patient themself.
Why workshops?
The Clinical Excellence Workshops offered at BDIA Dental Showcase 2026 were more than simply a platform for information, but a porthole into an exclusive learning experience. There is no better way to become proficient in a dental technique or with certain equipment or tools than hands-on, in a practical session with an expert. Don’t miss out next year!
