Dr Sam Omar will present “Digital Workflows in Full-Arch Implant Rehabilitation: Newest Protocols for Full-Arch Surgery and Prosthetics” as part of the ADI Masterclass: Full-Arch, in May 2026. Sponsored by Megagen, he shares insights into what he will explore:

“A fully digital full-arch workflow offers significant advantages, particularly when digital planning is used to create a true virtual patient that allows clinicians to visualise the restorative outcome before surgery begins. This approach enhances precision, supports prosthetically-driven implant positioning, and improves overall treatment predictability. When combined with stackable surgical guides, clinicians can execute complex full-arch cases with a higher level of control, accuracy, and efficiency while reducing chair time and the number of patient visits.

“However, the transition requires thoughtful implementation. The learning curve can be considerable, especially when integrating advanced platforms into daily practice. Beyond the technological investment, clinicians must focus on team calibration, data accuracy, and establishing a structured workflow that minimises cumulative errors. Ultimately, the greatest value comes not from the technology itself, but from the clinician’s ability to apply it within a disciplined and repeatable protocol.

“I would also recommend starting with the end in mind. Digital planning should use the virtual patient as the foundation for every clinical decision from diagnostics to implant positioning and immediate restoration. My recommendation is to avoid adopting too many technologies simultaneously; instead, master a simplified workflow first.

“I hope delegates leave my session with both clarity and confidence. Clarity on when a digital full-arch approach is truly advantageous, and confidence in how tools such as digital planning, stackable surgical guides, and the virtual patient concept can be applied safely and predictably. The focus will be on practical strategies that clinicians can integrate immediately into their workflow to reduce complications, improve efficiency, and elevate patient outcomes.

“ADI events consistently gather clinicians who are committed to advancing implant dentistry through evidence-based practice and meaningful professional exchange. It is an ideal setting for clinicians looking to better understand how innovations from digital planning to guided surgery protocols can translate into everyday clinical success.

“Digital dentistry is rapidly becoming the clinical standard, but technology alone does not guarantee better outcomes. When digital planning is used to construct a precise virtual patient and executed with solutions such as stackable surgical guides through platforms like R2GATE software, clinicians can significantly enhance both surgical confidence and restorative predictability. I look forward to contributing to this conversation and connecting with colleagues who are passionate about continuous growth.”
