A charity that provides life-changing dental care on mobile dental units across Hampshire is inviting people to the opening of its new base in Totton.
Dentaid The Dental Charity is inviting its friends, supporters and the community to learn more about its work and take part in a fun-filled fundriaising challenge.
On Saturday, September 27th the charity will be welcoming guests to its new offices at 27 Salisbury Road in Totton from 10am – 3pm for its Dentaid Day fundraiser, with the kind support of Water Lane Dental.
There will be games, stalls, refreshments and the chance to see inside one of Dentaid’s charity dental units and hear more about the charity’s work in the UK and overseas. Children will be able to brush up on their toothbrushing skills thanks to Dentaid’s BrightBites programme and there will be a host of activities to promote healthy smiles.
Thanks to a partnership with Anytime Fitness gym, guests will be able to join a sponsored run, row or cycle that will see energetic fundraisers cover the distance between Dentaid’s new Totton headquarters and the charity’s second new hub based in Yorkshire.
Teams from local businesses, sports clubs and community groups are invited to sign up in advance for the 24 hour, 476 mile challenge, or guests can join the fun on the day. There will be running and rowing machines and a static bike with plenty of chances to take part and cheer on friends and colleagues.
Every penny raised will help Dentaid provide more outreach dental services for people experiencing homelessness, harm, poverty and abuse. Dentaid takes dental care to hostels for rough sleepers, safe spaces for survivors of domestic abuse, services for people overcoming addiction and community projects for families living in poverty. As a result, the most vulnerable people in our communities can be freed from the misery of toothache.
