Dr Simon Chard – Co-principal of Rothley Lodge Dental, Past President of the BACD and Co-founder of PÄRLA Oral Care – shares his experience with 3D printing and SprintRay:

“I had been chairside milling restorations for around 12 years, so the introduction of 3D printing was a natural progression for me a few years ago. It is the most efficient method of fabricating dental prostheses. Modern 3D printing technology has also been developing at a rapid pace in terms of resins and hard/software – it is the future of the profession.

“I have used 3D printers from SprintRay to manufacturer nightguards, surgery guides and chairside restorations. With the advent of the Midas, and the increased resin portfolio, I also have access to alternative materials for indirect restorations.

“The Midas is completely revolutionary in its execution. It is much cleaner, much more user-friendly, has a smaller footprint in the practice and looks great. I am really excited to see its capabilities as they continue to develop in the future.

“Having met the international SprintRay team, I found them to be wonderful to work with. They have a real focus on dentistry and their broad understanding of the profession is essential for delivering solutions that the entire dental team can successfully use for excellent patient care.

“The whole SprintRay workflow has become integral to everything I do in practice from trial smiles to surgical guides, and even as part of full mouth rehabilitations. 3D printing is a no-brainer for providing a better patient experience and creating efficiencies. It’s an exciting time to be involved.”
