Dentaid the Dental Charity is using Volunteers’ Week 2025 (Monday 2nd – Sunday 8th June 2025) to say a big thank you to all of the wonderful people who give up their time to help them change lives through dental care.
Running every year since 1984, Volunteers’ Week is a national celebration of volunteers and provides an opportunity to thank volunteers for their time, passion and skills. The campaign highlights the diversity and unity of volunteer work across the UK.
Dentaid simply couldn’t do what they do without the support of hundreds of amazing dental nurses, dentists, industry professionals, oral health educators and many others. Since the start of 2025 alone, over 350 volunteers have helped the charity deliver 185 charity dental clinics across the UK, working on their mobile dental units to bring care to those who need it most.
Beyond the clinics, many volunteers visit schools to deliver BrightBites oral health presentations or lend a hand in Dentaid’s Totton warehouse refurbishing donated equipment and help build portable dental chairs to send overseas.
Others travel with the charity to Uganda, Cambodia and Malawi to provide dental care in some of the world’s most underserved communities.
As Dentaid prepares to deliver more charity dental clinics than ever in 2025 and beyond, the role of its volunteers has never been more important.
Sarah Rawlings, Head of Operations at Dentaid the Dental Charity, said: “Volunteers’ Week allows us to celebrate and recognise the fantastic contribution our volunteers make. It’s hard to underestimate the massive contribution that volunteers have made to Dentaid since we launched our first project in the UK back in 2015.
“We would not be able to exist, let alone do anywhere near as much as we do, without so many going above and beyond. The week is a chance for all of us to show just how vital they are in helping us break down barriers to dental care and making a lasting difference in people’s lives.”
Throughout this week, Dentaid will be sharing stories to highlight some of the volunteers who give their time to help those less fortunate access important oral health care.
