Dentsply Sirona is set to replace its Connect Case Center (CCC) with its innovative cloud-based platform DS Core, which connects dental practices and labs, and supports them throughout their daily workflows by providing tools that support practice growth, enhance workflow efficiency and elevate patient outcome and experience. Introduced in 2010, the CCC was designed for transferring intraoral scans and facilitating lab orders. However, as the dental industry evolves, so too must the tools that support it.

The transition to DS Core represents a significant advancement in the capabilities available to dental professionals. DS Core platform not only meets current customer requirements but also offers a wide range of functionalities that serve to enhance workflow efficiency. The Connect Case Center (CCC) will no longer be available for data transfer in most countries [1] by November 15, 2025. Current users can upgrade to DS Core immediately, ensuring a seamless transition to the cloud platform.

“Transferring from CCC to DS Core is the next logical step as we embrace the new era of Connected Dentistry,” said Max Milz, GVP Connected Technology Solutions at Dentsply Sirona. “DS Core gives clinicians with access to all key workflows—restorative, aligners, implantology—from one centralized cloud-based platform, simplifying their lives and enabling better patient care, practice growth, and operational efficiency.”

With DS Core, dental practices and labs can expect more streamlined processes and benefit from greater flexibility and new features:

More Flexibility, Less Complexity

  • Scan using CEREC or Connect Software.
  • Add x-rays and other files to your case submission.
  • Access and monitor orders from any device.
  • DS Core allows selection of different tiers of access – making licenses unnecessary. Order to the lab with any DS Core account, even the free option.

Free-Up Scanner & Delegate Tasks

  • Fill out order data via web browser, freeing up the scanner instantly.
  • Delegate scans or order data entry to staff while you review and submit cases later.

Enhanced Communication between practices and labs

  • Communicate via integrated chat and exchange files in real-time.
  • Send, receive and view design proposals.

Additional Features for Enhanced Workflows

  • Store and view patient media in one place, collaborate from anywhere.
  • Facilitate patient communication with the Canvas [2].
  • Start workflows such as aligner treatment, CEREC restorations, or specialist referrals among others, directly from DS Core.

Simple and secure upgrade to DS Core

DeeDee Meevasin

Users can easily switch from CCC to DS Core in just a few steps. After setting up a DS Core account, the relevant equipment (intraoral scanners, but also X-ray units) is connected to the new software, enabling an automatic upload. The applicable partner lab can then be selected in DS Core. The lab itself only needs an account to receive data – a license, as with Connect Case Center, is not required. Data transfer is possible with any type of DS Core account.

“Since switching to DS Core, our collaboration with the lab has improved” says DeeDee Meevasin, dentist from Las Vegas, Nevada. “We’ve gained more workflow flexibility, and it frees up the scanner, allowing us to scan more patients. With DS Core, our lab cases run smoothly from scanning to collaboration. It’s all in one place and allows me to focus on what matters most, my patients.”
