The force that the jaw can exert is tremendous, with bruxers able to cause significant damage to their teeth. For a dental implant, bruxism can prevent treatment success.
Dr Chris Leech will elucidate the importance of managing bruxers with implants at the ADI Team Congress 2025. His talk is entitled “Implants and Bruxism – Not the Perfect Pairing”, with Chris commenting on its content:
“There is more to implant maintenance than just bacterial attack. The talk will illuminate the prevalence and damage of tooth grinding and how best to converse with patients about it and what to do about it.
“It will emphasise the importance of managing and monitoring the occlusion as these change with time as well as preventative strategies such as bite guards and Botox. This will help ensure a longer lifespan for every implant.”
Chris’ session will raise awareness on the challenges facing dental professionals and is an unmissable opportunity for all those with an interest in dental implants. Join in at one of the many educational highlights of the ADI Team Congress 2025.
