mydentist has formed a strategic partnership with Tempdent, a dental apprenticeships, training and recruitment provider. Under this collaboration, Tempdent will become the preferred apprenticeship provider for all mydentist trainee Dental Nurses, further strengthening both organisations’ dedication to excellence in dental healthcare, and the professional development of aspiring Dental Nurses across the UK.

Tempdent will guide mydentist’s trainees through the Level 3 Dental Nurse Apprenticeship programme. Upon completion of the 18-month course, successful apprentices will achieve General Dental Council (GDC) registration, granting them the qualifications required to practice legally as Dental Nurses in the UK, and the ability to provide high-quality care to mydentist patients.

Excellence in dental care and training

The partnership between two of the UK’s largest dental organisations represents a leap forward for the UK dental sector, forecasting a 13% growth in Dental Nurse apprenticeship numbers in 2025. mydentist, which supports over 3.8 million patients annually through its 530+ practices, views this initiative as part of its mission to ensure high-quality, accessible oral healthcare across the UK.

Empowering trainees through comprehensive support

The Level 3 Dental Nurse Apprenticeship program offers apprentices 15 online modules designed to build essential skills such as infection control, patient care, and practice safety. Delivered through a combination of live online workshops, interactive tasks, and one-on-one sessions with Tempdent’s Tutor Assessors, the program ensures a robust learning experience tailored to each apprentice.

Additionally, mydentist’s Practice Managers and Apprentice Mentors will provide ongoing support to apprentices. This dual support system guarantees that trainees progress through the course while thriving in their roles within mydentist practices.

Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2025

The announcement of this partnership coincides with National Apprenticeship Week 2025, highlighting the importance of apprenticeship programs in shaping the UK’s dental workforce.

mydentist and Tempdent will be hosting a series of joint workshops for their employees throughout the year.
