Toyin Aiyegbusi, general dentist, was a recipient of one of the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI) Scholarships which were released as part of an initiative to drive closer the link between clinicians and academia. Toyin spoke about the importance of the award:
“The award is truly a great honour; it is something that I am very proud of. The scholarship is forward thinking, providing an opportunity for black clinicians to excel in studies involving implantology. I believe this has the potential to create a positive impact, fostering a more diverse and skilled cohort of implant dentists.”
“With the scholarship, my aims are really about becoming the best implant clinician I can. Having access to the ADI membership, Masterclasses and other events, I’m hoping to have a strong start to a career in implant dentistry, and I’m excited to access educational and networking opportunities.
“I recognise that implant dentistry requires a long-term commitment and involves a significant learning curve. I hope my experience with the ADI will provide me with the confidence to navigate this journey successfully.”
