For the 27th consecutive year, Henry Schein is helping students worldwide start the academic year off right through its “Back to School” programme, a flagship initiative of Henry Schein Cares, the Company’s global corporate citizenship programme. Team Schein Members (TSMs) at 40 locations in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Ireland are helping 5,300 students gain confidence and excitement for the school year, with more events planned later this year in Italy and Spain.

First introduced in 1998, the Back to School programme reflects Henry Schein’s enduring commitment to our communities by empowering TSMs with volunteer opportunities to support underserved children in partnership with local not-for-profit social service organizations. Team Schein Members come together to give back, packing backpacks filled with school supplies and dental kits that prepare children with essentials for the upcoming school year. Since its inception, the programme has expanded globally, serving more than 65,000 children across various sites where Henry Schein operates.

“Team Schein remains dedicated to ensuring children start the school year with confidence and excitement,” said Stanley M. Bergman, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Henry Schein. “By empowering these young minds with essential tools and resources, we are helping to nurture a brighter future for our communities. At Henry Schein, we are honored to continue supporting educational equity and inspiring children to reach their full potential.”

Back to School in the UK

Henry Schein UK provided children from four local schools with essential supplies to support their learning and help them return to class with renewed excitement and enthusiasm. Each school bag was equipped with a pencil case, pens, pencils, a ruler, an eraser, highlighters, notebooks, and folders, to provide children with some of the necessary supplies for the upcoming academic term.

The schools supported by Team Schein this year were Danecourt School (Gillingham), Bradfields Academy (Chatham), Springwell Academy (Leeds), and Baden Powell Primary School (Wales).

For Lenna Wells, office manager at Danecourt School, “the Henry Schein Back to School programme has been an absolute lifesaver for our school. It’s lovely to see the smiles on our students’ faces as they receive new backpacks, school supplies, and even water bottles. Their generous donations have made a huge difference in our school.”

This year’s Back to School programme has supported 100 children, 25 more than in 2023, further strengthening and expanding the Henry Schein Cares global initiative.

“Our Back to School initiative is more than just providing materials; it’s about empowering young minds and fostering a brighter future. We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to partner with these exceptional schools and make a tangible difference in the lives of these deserving students,” said Vikki Goodall, Vice President and Managing Director UK and Ireland.
