Dr Hrisith Choksi is a member of the teaching faculty for the Advanced Horizontal & Vertical Augmentation course with Dr Selvaraj Balaji. He shares what he feels distinguishes this course and the ASHA Club from others on the market:
“I was already doing bone augmentation before attending the ASHA Club course, but I knew Dr Balaji was one of the best in the country within the field. I wanted to improve my own skills and knew this was the right place to do that. I like the ASHA Club ethos, the amount of ongoing support available and how openly everyone discusses treatment plans, successes and failures – which is essential for clinicians today. We all learn from our mistakes, but being able to learn from others and their mistakes, and to explore these in a safe environment, is crucial.
“The ASHA Club is unique because it covers specific treatment principles in detail, while still being open to other methods – each of the faculty members explore the techniques that they use personally within the training. The four-day layout also makes this course stand out, with two days focused on horizontal augmentation and gum grafts to improve delegates’ skills ahead of the following two days on vertical augmentation.
“Another advantage is that delegates present their own cases and then discuss them together – this makes people think laterally and further highlights the many different treatment options available.
“Beyond the initial training, there is also significant support available, from the mentors and via an open forum that provides advice from past delegates in a completely non-judgemental way. In addition, support from team members who aren’t teaching is phenomenal, which creates a really enthusiastic and passionate training environment.”
