An ultrasonic scaler insert with unmatched durability and performance
Conventional ultrasonic scaler inserts are known to lose 25% of their scaling efficiency after only 1 mm of tip wear and 50% of their scaling efficiency after 2 mm of tip wear. This means that the operator must carefully monitor the wear and efficiency of the insert. Worn inserts also strain the wrist of the operator and can damage tooth enamel as the operator tries to compensate for their inefficiency by applying more force.
Developed over thousands of hours by Parkell engineers in close collaboration with teams of hygienists, Parkell’s patented DuraTip inserts achieve the previously unthinkable: 100% efficiency through an unprecedented 3 mm of tip wear, validated over a year of field testing.
DuraTip’s excellence is achieved through novel patented internal geometries at the tip and connecting body, and unsurpassed energy transfer and durability across an innovative W-stack design for optimized performance and effective deposit removal. The W-stack design also decreases the risk of damage during handling and instrument processing.
While traditional stacks are prone to bending, which leads to a decrease in energy and the ability to make the tip move efficiently and effectively, DuraTip’s stack design provides greater rigidity and stability over time. Their continuous, like-new scaling efficiency translates into less pinch pressure, vastly superior performance over time, less chair time and considerable savings as instruments have a very, very long life.
Duratip scaler inserts are currently available in two shapes, the universal and straight perio tip design and come with an ergonomic, anti-slip soft grip for maximum ergonomic support and ease of handling.
