Elisabetta Cotti is Professor of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, and the Chairman of the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at the School of Dentistry, University of Cagliari – Italy. She will be presenting her session “Host Factors, Apical Periodontitis, and Systemic Disease” at the IFEA World Endodontic Congress (WEC). She discusses her topic:
“The IFEA World Endodontic Congress is a unique occasion to gather in Glasgow this September in the beautiful landscape of Scotland.
“In my presentation I will address apical periodontitis as a multifactorial disease, as well as the importance of the immune system and the genetic predisposition of the host.
“I would love to address a call for action in looking for possible medication which will help apical periodontitis to respond to endodontic treatment in a better way.
