The contribution Dr Sejal Bhansali has made to the dental profession was recognised on 22nd June 2024, when she was inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, European Section, in Limassol, Cyprus. Sejal was one of 51 inductees from across Europe including 12 from district 5, England, Scotland and Wales.
She was nominated by Sir Nairn Wilson CBE, FRCS, FRCSI (Honorary Founding President, College of General Dentistry, Professor Emeritus of Dentistry, Kings College). Dr. Sejal Bhansali is a General Dental Practitioner in London, Clinical Tutor at the world-renowned Kings College. In addition, she set up the Kenya Division of the Dental Wellness Trust, providing oral health care to 8000 children in Kibera, Kenya – Africa’s largest slum.
The International College of Dentists (ICD) has been Honouring the World’s Leading Dentists Since 1920 with 12,000+ members (designated as Fellows) in more than 140 countries. The International College of Dentists is the pre-eminent Global Dental Honor Society recognizing outstanding professional achievement and meritorious service while advocating for humanitarian and educational initiatives.
Fellowship in the College is by invitation only and is granted in recognition of an individual dentist’s outstanding professional achievement, meritorious service and dedication to the continued progress of dentistry for the benefit of humankind.
Prior to being recognised as a Fellow of the ICD, the candidate’s qualifications and achievements are evaluated by a series of credential committees in order to ensure that the individual is deserving of this honour and will live up to the ICD motto of “Recognizing Service as well as the Opportunity to Serve”.
Once initiated, a Fellow in good standing is authorized to use the title ‘FICD’ after their name.
