The British Orthodontic Conference (BOC) will be returning to the great city of Birmingham in 2024 and registration is now open.
At the ICC, Centenary Square, between Wednesday 16th and Friday 18th October, there will be a line-up of hugely respected speakers from the UK and around the world – many of whom are speaking at BOC for the first time. This year there has been a reinvention of the format of BOC to ensure it continues to be the orthodontic event in the calendar for all those dental professionals with an interest in orthodontics.
The essential main programme will cover the widest range of clinical topics including digital advancements and aligners. Invited Speakers include:
- Kevin Fong – Anaesthetist, Broadcaster, AI in health expert and Royal Institution Lecturer
- Christina Pagel – Professor in Clinical Operational Research Unit at UCL, Vice President of UK Operational Research Society
- Carlos Flores Mir
- Benedict Wilmes
- Waddah Sabouni
Professor Tim Newton will be delivering the prestigious Northcroft memorial lecture and there are wide-ranging parallel sessions for Developing Private Practice, Cleft and for those considering a career in orthodontics. There is also a well devised programme for orthodontic therapists, TCOs and nurses.
The exhibition space has been reconfigured and reimagined with smaller Studio and Trade supported Theatres to enhance the delegate experience and choice. The BOC curated programme will conclude on the Friday evening but the experience continues with a programme of ‘Saturday sessions’ hosted by trade partners, allowing delegates to choose and make their BOC experience truly bespoke to their area of interest.
The BOC social programme always proves popular and this year there is a hosted drinks reception on Thursday and a Friday night party which will bring the BOC to a fitting high at the Birmingham Town Hall – a legendary venue and fitting for the festivities as BOS celebrates 30 years as the voice of UK orthodontics.
Guy Deeming, Chair of the British Orthodontic Conference Team added, “The team have worked incredibly hard to deliver a reinvented BOC format and are confident that BOC2024 is an event fit for the next generation and beyond expectation. I am confident that BOC2024 will be a new and upgraded experience to enjoy, learn and network at, whatever your role or experience.
As in recent years, the conference runs online too so there is an option for those who cannot attend in person to still benefit from the excellent education on offer. I look forward to seeing you all in my home city of Birmingham.”
