BHA Software Limited today announced the latest contract for the Pearl Ortho version of its Pearl Dental Software practice management system. NEO Orthodontics Ltd now uses Pearl across its 10 practices in Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
NEO Orthodontics has built 24 state-of-the-art surgeries across 8 newly built practices, and, when fully-staffed, will be supported by up to 100 orthodontic surgeons, nurses and practice support staff. Having recently gained a contract for NHS referrals across the region, NEO Orthodontics expects to treat around 4,000 referrals and new patients each year. The new practices rolled out from June 2019, however, in the meantime, Pearl’s cloud-based data management features ensured NEO Orthodontics opened its doors to patients on 1st April 2019.
Dr Usman Qureshi (BDS, MOrth), Clinical Director at NEO Orthodontics, explained; “We have invested £5m in a 10-year project to provide Orthodontic services across Kent, Surrey and Sussex so far. We are working actively to improve patient access and enhance the clinical care available in these communities.
“All of our clinics have been designed specifically for specialist orthodontics. The design incorporated the latest thinking to optimise workflow and comfort for staff and patients alike whilst ensuring compliance with best-practice standards.
NEO Orthodontics is one of the largest provider of orthodontic care in these three counties and will provide the best possible treatment for patients in the area.”
A project of this scale inevitably suffered its share of minor delays, however, NEO Orthodontics had relied on its contingency plans whilst practices were completed. Dr Qureshi said that it was an inconvenience, but not a problem; “Pearl allowed us to manage operations seamlessly, including the transfer of patients and staff to the new premises.”
The decision to choose Pearl was taken after careful consideration. Dr Qureshi and his colleagues have used many different practice management software systems in the past. Their broad experience led them away from more traditional setups to a solution that would be more innovative instead. BHA’s Pearl came highly recommended by their colleagues and offered cloud-based products.
“It was important that we engaged a supplier with an active development roadmap for its core product and keep up with changes happening to practice, technology and legislation. We liked the orthodontic features and have input to how these are developed. They [BHA] listen and adopt practical solutions to complicated requirements,” said Dr Qureshi. “The flexibility of cloud-based software is important too. It’s allowed us to open our doors on time and will support changes in the future.
“Pearl is the most comprehensive practice management system available in the UK,” says Ben Baker, MD of BHA. “We’re keen to keep the workflow simple and aligned to the patient journey, and to provide our software and excellent support at a very cost-effective price point. Pearl makes sense to everybody in the practice, including the accountant.”
Mr Baker concludes; “Pearl has become one of the UK’s most popular practice management software systems. Unlike some imported systems, we are focused on the needs of dentists in both the NHS and Private sectors of dentistry. Now we also offer independent dentists the tools they need to support their business as it grows into a multi-practice chain providing specialities such as orthodontic treatments and periodontal care regimes.”
