This November, the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) will be welcoming dental professionals to its Sixteenth Annual Conference. Focusing on “Delivering Excellence: Tradition vs. Innovation”, this highly inclusive three-day event will enable dental professionals of all experiences to benefit from the very latest industry insights, providing the opportunity to network with peers and other likeminded individuals.

As always, the BACD Annual Conference will offer an exciting programme of hands-on workshops and engaging lectures presented by some of dentistry’s most respected clinicians. Among the world-class speaker line-up is Dr Elliot Mechanic, who has become widely recognised as a pioneer in the field of dental aesthetics.

He remains a diplomat of the American Board of Esthetic Dentistry, a Fellow of the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry, a Fellow of the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics, and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. Dr Mechanic also maintains his membership at the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Dr Mechanic’s decades of experience within the profession ensure he is ideally placed to deliver an interesting hands-on workshop at the BACD Annual Conference, exploring how to create high quality temporary dental restorations.

Speaking about his session, Dr Mechanic says: “Dentists often have to return restorations to their chosen laboratories for adjustments, which may require multiple patient appointments. During my workshop, I will show delegates how to use my suggested techniques to get things right first time. We will look at the basics of impression taking, bite registration, diagnosis and smile design.

“We will also go over the basics of creating artistic temporary restorations and how to use them to communicate exactly what we require from a dental technician. Many dentists work very inefficiently, repeating steps and often doing things that are not really necessary to treatment. I will try to provide delegates with a simple approach they can follow and demonstrate to them the most appropriate materials to use to achieve the best results.”

Dr Mechanic adds: “I have presented hands-on workshops at past BACD Annual Conferences and have seen this event develop from its infancy to the respected powerhouse it is in today’s world of cosmetic dentistry. I believe the BACD is the biggest reason why British dentistry has evolved so rapidly and is known worldwide as a dominant platform within our profession.”

If Dr Mechanic’s workshop at the BACD Annual Conference wasn’t enough to look forward to, delegates will have the chance to explore the latest dental equipment and materials in the market at an eclectic tradeshow exhibition, where leading manufacturers and suppliers will be on-hand to offer their professional advice and guidance. The BACD’s exclusive Gala Dinner will also provide plenty of opportunity for delegates to relax and socialise with friends and colleagues.

Save the dates to the celebrated BACD Annual Conference to make sure you don’t miss out!
