“I joined a British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) Recommended Meeting, as I am interested in the BACD Accreditation Programme and wanted an updated look at the latest concepts and techniques surrounding aesthetic smile design,” says Dr Philip McDermott.

“The speakers at the meeting were both excellent, with a wealth of personal experience. They provided tips on various techniques and treatment planning, using case examples to support their presentations. Both speakers were also very approachable during and at the end of the day for questions and extended discussion.

“The Recommended Meeting served as a good refresher course for me and confirmed that I am following correct protocols in current clinical practice. I also gained new insight into advanced techniques – which I have benefitted from implementing in my own work – and how to effectively communicate with laboratories.

“I would advise all dental professionals to attend BACD Recommended Meetings, particularly if they have an interest in developing their skills and knowledge, or if they are already involved in cosmetically-driven and minimally invasive dentistry. These meetings can serve as a refresher course for experienced clinicians, or those undertaking BACD Accreditation, as they provide the ideal platform from which to meet like-minded colleagues.”
