A new crown-themed charity challenge will bring the kings and queens of the dental community together for a mix of royal regalia and fundraising fun.
Dentaid The Dental Charity is launching its Crown Challenge, inviting dental groups, suppliers, clinicians and energetic fundraisers to don their crowns, tiaras and robes, lace up their running shoes and support the charity’s work helping homeless and vulnerable people across the UK.
The jewel in the crown is the Windsor Ultra Challenge on Saturday 17th April 2027, with a team of regal fundraisers walking, running or jogging 10km on a route which starts and finishes at Windsor Racecourse and takes in the picturesque scenery of the Great Park and Windsor Castle.
Running royalty in search of a greater challenge can also take part in a 25km or 50km event. Participants will get lots of support with regular stations for food and drink, medical back-up, parking and shuttle transfers and camping options. There will also be medals, T-shirts and celebratory drinks at the finish line.
For those unable to take part in the main event, a ‘Your Palace, Your Pace’ option will be available. Majestic marchers will be able to choose their own routes and distances and walk from their nearest castle or palace, with support from Dentaid’s fundraising team.
Event registration is now open and royal runners and ramblers are being invited to get their best foot forward and sign up.
The money raised will go towards Dentaid’s work providing outreach mobile dental care for people experiencing homelessness, harm, poverty and abuse.
Andy Evans, CEO of Dentaid The Dental Charity, said: “The Crown Challenge is set to be one of the crown jewels of our 2027 calendar. It’s a brilliant chance for supporters and dental practices to come together, take on a royal challenge and raise vital funds for people who can’t access the dental care they need. Whatever distance people choose, we can’t wait to crown them our fundraising champions.”
Registration costs £15 for the 10km challenge, £30 for the 25km challenge and £40 for the full 50km. Participants must raise at least £150 for the 10km event, £275 for the 25km, and £375 for the 50km.
