This year, the BACD 22nd Annual Conference – themed “Future Frontiers” – will host a thrilling speaker line-up, featuring individuals from both the UK and abroad. Bringing unique insights and fresh ideas from across the pond will be Professor Dr Markus B. Blatz.
He is Professor of Restorative Dentistry, Chairman of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, and Assistant Dean for Digital Innovation and Professional Development at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Markus is also the founder of the Penn Dental Medicine CAD/CAM Ceramic Centre, which studies emerging technologies and new ceramic materials in the pursuit of exceptional aesthetic dentistry. With many other accolades and achievements to his name, Markus is a prominent figure in the global field and a huge asset to the BACD Annual Conference 2026.
His talk will be titled “Mastering minimally invasive indirect restorations in aesthetic dentistry” and will provide a detailed clinical update on aesthetic treatment options. Within the session, Markus will explore hot topics like adhesive bonding and the use of zirconia for restorations. He will also answer the big questions being asked right now, using sound scientific principles and extensive personal experience.
Attendees will leave the session with a greater understanding of modern ceramic materials and their indications, as well as being more informed about the latest CAD/CAM technologies on the market. Clinicians will also gain a wealth of practical advice and guidance on how to optimise outcomes when providing ceramic restorations in a wide range of situations.

Diana is a highly-esteemed clinician providing exceptional cosmetic dental treatment from her boutique private practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Diana is also a well-respected teacher and lecturer in the field of digital design at the eminent Kois Center. Furthermore, she is the founder of Exocad Elite, a training continuum that simplifies 3D printing and digital workflows for long-lasting reliability and a streamlined professional workflow.
Diana will present both a hands-on workshop and a lecture in the main programme at the BACD 22nd Annual Conference. The workshop – “Dive into Digital Wax-ups” – will give attendees an opportunity to design their own digital wax-ups as they become more familiar with the process and the technology available.
In the main programme, Diana will present “The Digital Road to treatment Success” as she discusses the entire digital workflow and the positive impact it can have on the quality of patient care delivered. She commented:
