mydentist, the UK’s largest dental care provider, has appointed Rob McCoy as its new Chief Operating Officer.
Rob joins mydentist from Starbucks where he has spent the last eight years, most recently as General Manager of the Starbucks’ UK business and, before that, as General Manager for a number of their major European markets.
Prior to Starbucks, Rob held senior leadership roles at Pizza Express and John Lewis Partnership, following nine years spent as a commissioned officer in the British Army.
Rob will report directly to Chief Executive, Nilesh Pandya, and will focus on delivering mydentist’s strategic mission to help the nation smile. This includes delivering high quality and affordable dental care to more patients than ever, expanding its network of industry-leading practices to more consumer retail settings across the UK, ensuring it remains a great place to work and practise, and using the latest digital technology to transform how dentistry is delivered in the UK.
Rob will also be appointed to the mydentist Board when he takes up his role on 5 October 2026.
Nilesh Pandya, Chief Executive at mydentist, said: “We’re delighted that Rob is joining mydentist as our new Chief Operating Officer. UK dentistry is going through an evolution, with patients still wanting the highest quality oral healthcare but delivered with a customer journey that works for them. Rob brings 30 years of operational leadership across some of the leading customer-focussed businesses in the UK. And critically, Rob’s values are aligned to ours: his people-first approach will make a huge difference to our patients and our colleagues as we continue to transform how dentistry is delivered in the UK and grow access to high quality, affordable dental care across our nation.”
Rob McCoy, incoming Chief Operating Officer, said: “What drew me to mydentist is the scale of the opportunity: a business with the reach to change how millions of people experience dental care, built around a fantastic purpose of helping the nation smile. I’ve spent my career supporting people to do their best work, and I’m looking forward to getting into practices, meeting the teams delivering that care every day, and helping them make high quality, affordable dentistry available to more people across the country than ever before.”
