The British Association of Oral Surgeons (BAOS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Adrian Thorp as its new President at their recent national conference in Birmingham.
Professor Thorp assumes the presidency at a pivotal time for oral surgery in the UK. During his presidency, Professor Thorp will lead BAOS with a strong focus on strengthening the voice of oral surgery nationally, supporting the development of Tier 2 and specialist services, and championing high-quality, equitable care for all patients. He will also prioritise professional engagement, trainee development, and collaboration with partner organisations across dentistry and healthcare.
Speaking on his appointment, Adrian Thorp said: “It is a great honour to serve as President of the British Association of Oral Surgeons. BAOS plays a vital role in representing oral surgeons and advancing standards of care. I am committed to ensuring the Association continues to be a strong, credible voice for the profession, supporting both its members and the patients we serve.”
BAOS looks forward to Professor Thorp’s leadership as the Association continues its work in advocacy, education, and service development on behalf of oral surgeons across the UK.
