Throughout many clinical talks and insightful lectures at BDIA Dental Showcase 2025, the importance of effectively utilising the skills and responsibilities of each dental team member was a heavily discussed topic.
In the Oral Health Theatre, Professor Tim Newton delivered a popular session on the Oral Health Foundation’s global strategy to support and improve oral health, while Joycee Rebelo presented the opportunities orthodontic therapists have in mouth cancer detection.
The Chief Dental Officer Theatre hosted an insightful skill mix panel on the changing responsibilities of dental hygienists and dental therapists.
Preetee Hylton, current President of the British Association of Dental Nurses, spoke with great care about the responsibilities team members have to support patients and colleagues who could be victims of domestic abuse.
“She was a great speaker, and it was an important topic for everyone – professionals and patients,” said dental nurse Jurate Lazarevaite, who attended the talk. “It’s my first time at BDIA Dental Showcase in London, and I’m really enjoying it.”
See you next year!
