The Association of Dental Implantology (ADI) Team Congress 2025 promises to be a fantastic event, drawing in experts from around the world to discuss a wide range of topics relevant to the field of dental implantology. Set to be held in Brighton 1-3 May 2025, delegates can expect unmatched educational and social opportunities, beneficial to various members of the dental team. With innovations being made in the field all the time, it’s vital to stay up to date with the cutting-edge knowledge, techniques, and technology – making the ADI Team Congress a valuable opportunity to learn.

Specialist prosthodontist, Professor Joseph Kan, will be joining us from the US to present a session focussed on anterior implant aesthetics. Professor Kan received his Prosthodontic and Implant Dentistry training from Loma Loma University (LLU) in 1997. He is currently a Professor at LLU and also maintains a private practice. He shares an insight into what attendees can expect from his lecture:

“My session at the ADI Team Congress 2025 will centre around anterior implant aesthetics, with hard and soft tissue management around immediately placed implants in the aesthetic zone a particular focus. I will discuss everything from simple to complex cases, including complication management, to give delegates a comprehensive overview of the topic, relevant to their individual level of expertise

“The key challenges and pitfalls that practitioners face regarding immediate implant placement in the anterior zone include implant positioning, achieving implant stability, ensuring a prosthetically-driven approach, and choosing the right soft tissue management techniques. I will explore each of these in more detail during my session, to help delegates develop a deeper understanding of these often quite challenging areas. The solutions I will discuss will mainly centre around biological concepts, more so than materials or techniques, as these are the fundamentals that clinicians must understand when providing dental implants.

“I hope that delegates will understand the importance of long-term follow ups after immediate dental implant placement, and help both professionals and patients manage their expectations for what can be achieved with immediate protocols. I hope that attendees will see my session as an updated guideline for managing complications in aesthetic immediate dental implant treatment.”

This will not be the first time that Professor Kan will be presenting with the ADI, he shares his past experiences with the Association and why he would encourage clinicians with an interest in dental implantology to attend the ADI Team Congress in May 2025:

“This will be the 5th or 6th time I have presented a lecture for the ADI, and I am an honorary member of the Association, so I am quite familiar with its ethos and members. I have attended numerous ADI meetings, and I have always had an excellent experience. The venues are always exciting, and the social events are lovely and present great opportunities for networking. ADI meetings draw in top notch speakers from around the world and, in my opinion, the ADI is the premier implant group for the UK. I have very fond memories and experiences with the Association.

“The ADI offers exceptional educational opportunities for those with an interest in dental implantology. The quality of all the meetings I have been involved with has been excellent. The ADI Team Congress is set to be a great meeting for people to gather and learn about implant dentistry without the political side of things. I highly recommend attending in May.

“In addition to the educational benefits, the social and networking events held by the ADI are extremely important. Not only are they held in lovely settings, but they bring together ADI members and top speakers, allowing everybody to interact. It’s a great experience, not just for networking, but also to learn new things from each other – both relating to the clinical side of implants and the business side. They are absolutely lovely events.”
