The British Endodontic Society (BES) encourages the promotion of endodontic treatment across the profession – welcoming specialists and generalists alike in its membership.
In order to assist clinicians in assessing the complexity of a case and, therefore, whether to carry out treatment themselves or refer to a more experienced colleague, the BES developed its Case Assessment Tool within the BES EndoApp. This is designed to help clinicians assess the risks and difficulties of individual cases. It takes into account a range of factors relevant to the complexity of the case to generate a score which suggests the best management route. This information helps clinicians decide whether to manage the case, or to refer.
